This submission is from Diva Espresso, a small Seattle coffeehouse chain. I'm flattered I get to share it here. I have a huge soft spot for Diva.
There is a Diva Espresso on the corner of 5th and Jefferson here in Seattle, which is pretty much on my walk from my office to Seattle Municipal Court at 5th and James. For me, Diva represents my main coffee spot outside of Starbucks. The food offerings are great. I love the chocolate-dipped peanut butter cookies, and the baristas are always super friendly. It's a place that I drop by super often with colleagues, as we walk to and from work. It is a gathering place with colleagues to reward ourselves with treats or get ready for the calendar ahead of us.
When I do order something like an iced latte from Diva, I get heckled a bit from colleagues that I'm carrying around a non-Starbucks cup. I even have moments of thinking, 'better not get caught cheating on Starbucks...' ;-) I'm teasing a bit.
My work world is changing and I won't be heading up to Seattle Municipal Court as often, and so I won't be walking right by Diva nearly daily.
But they are one of my Seattle faves: So much born right here in this city that I love: Starbucks, Beecher's, Diva Espresso, Fran's chocolates, Trophy Cupcakes. I'm do believe it would be healthy for my waistline if I moved away!
